We were very fortunate to have Dr. Javeed Sukhera present to our Council on the role of diversity, equity and inclusion in the context of medical regulation.  His approach was engaging, respectful, and led to a dynamic conversation about important yet often uncomfortable topics facing our health care system and the broader society.  Council members shared very positive feedback about the session, which was evidence-based and powerful through his use of storytelling and lived experiences.  Thank you for an insightful and impactful presentation!

I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Javeed Sukhera in many different roles. Most recently, he facilitated a number of webinars for the Child and Youth Mental Health Sector supporting wellness for our frontline staff and leaders provincially. His sessions provided comprehensive insights to enhancing wellness by balancing professional and personal identities, and leadership strategies with practical components we could easily implement to support evidence-informed outcomes.  Dr. Sukhera is a skilled communicator and combines core therapeutic skills of warmth and empathy with a highly professional style of delivery of training and a thorough understanding of the subject matter. Dr Javeed Sukhera’s virtual and in-person workshops on leadership, implicit bias and youth risk assessment are excellent. Utilizing research and relevant examples, he engages the audience and evokes reflection and learning. I would definitely recommend him as a trainer for other organizations. I also attended his leadership webinars during COVID. Utilizing up-to-date research, he provided rich and valuable learning which I have been able to incorporate into my practice. An unexpected benefit of these workshops was the fostering of connections with other participants. I left with a greater network and a feeling of validation and support!
